Orbiloc shoot

Orbiloc shoot

Hey and welcome back, you all had an enjoyable . I know i did have great two weeks off.

During my vacation i got to do a shoot for the company called Orbiloc. They deal in reflexes and lights for in particular. Small strong lights to hang on your pets collar, so people in traffic are able to see them in the dark. I have for this shoot hired my colleague to come along, for it’s always good to have a TLS (talking light stand) on a shoot.

have got funding to make a, whats called an OBS commercial. They hired a company called Fridthjof Film to make the commercial itself. My was a bit different. I had to take stills of the scenes, and situations to be used on the for Orbiloc.

We headed out at 17.30 and drove in my car to Roskilde. After finding the place, and saying hello to the film crew, we unpacked a lot of the gear that we brought. Two lights on stands, triggers, camera and lenses. We talked about what pictures we know we wanted to bring in, and what our options where to make them here. We had just one small problem, about the pictures that we wanted to do. The people and animals, was constantly busy with the film shoot. Not that we could not use them, but they could not move out of their places. So we had to shoot the pictures in the setting and lights that the film crew had set up. This if cause gives some problems, as well as benefits. The benefits are of cause, that everything is set up, and people are where they are supposed to be. But the disadvantage are, that the light the film makers uses are far to low for me to get a decent ISO. This of cause brings in more grain in the shot.

We decided to make some pictures of our own, and hijack the people and animals, even if there was just a 5 minutes break. (keep in mind, this is not actors. They where the real Police, Rescuers and so on, who has volunteered to participate in this OBS commercial) So we set ups two lamps and a police car up the road, where we could make some pictures of our own. These turned out great, and we had full control. I will show some pictures the minute i can. Well all along it was a great night. We finished 02.00 – 02.30 in the morning and drove back home.

It was nice to have a ordered job once again.

HiLite my life

HiLite my life

Last monday i attended a seminar with the well know (well.. for some) Photographer Mark Cleghorn, who was on his Lastolite tour. He has been a spokesperson for Lastolite for many years, and the tour is also sponsored by them. And is of cause a big advisement for them. Of cause this is not hidden in any way, and i was there to learn how to use different products that now just happens to be from Lastolite. One of the items that i always wanted i now want even more, after being instructed in it’s use. Retail price is around 3200 kr for the size i want, and it’s called the HiLite. Basically it’s a big softbox that also doubles as a background that you can light from behind to get those hikey model photo’s that i some times aim for. But with a lot better result than a normal white background. So something to aim for, when getting a little money rolling. Mark Cleghorn is very talented, and i also bought a year subscription to his learning www.phototraining4u.com

iPhone bonanza

iPhone bonanza

So, the time has arrived for me to get the mail from my service provider, that i now was able to buy the . Woooohoooo, so i screwed over my bank account to put in the order before it was to late. So the new wonder that i received yesterday is the 32gb black version, and let me tell you.. It’s pretty damn nice!

It did not arrive with a case though, as i thought i should. I tried to figure out if i was not eligible for a case at the Apple . Apple have been running this campaign where you would get a free case when buying a 4, because of the signal problem it has. The looses the signal, when being hold in a certain way, and apparently it can be fixed when attaching a case. I had to download a and then apply for a case though that, so now i’m hoping that a case will be popping in at my door soon.

I’m looking very much forward to using the phone, for i was getting pretty tired of the speed on my old phone. (The speed got killed in the OS4.0 update)

So i will be blogging about a lot more absolutely crappy stuff, with pictures straight from the phone! Woop woop, Hipsta Magic for the win (the colors look sooo awesome with Hipsta that my old one)

Underground Music Awards: And the winner is!

Underground Music Awards: And the winner is!

Congratulations to The Interbeing for winning the UMA for; Best metal act. The award show was suposed to take place in , but the venue went bankrupt just a week before. But instead of just canceling the show, they instead made a more private ceremony for the nominees and judges at the venue Rust.

My brothers band The Interbeing (click on name for ) won the award for Best metal act, something i believe is fully deserved. I have had the chance to take some pictures of their live performance a couple of times and you can see them here, or just click into them from the menu.

Well congratulations once again, hopefully the award will come with some publicity as well, and bring you guys forward in the world. (and remember that PanCakeBeaver.com always want you as a client)

iPhones can do that!?

iPhones can do that!?

Smartphones and not just are now able to browse though my with a simple interface. You can even go look in the image galleries. This means the phones does not have to load all the fancy and such. But if you prefer to go through the site in the traditional way, you can disable the yourself, by going to the bottom and flipping the “mobile theme” switch off.

Eurovision 2010 semifinal 2

Eurovision 2010 semifinal 2

Yesterday i watched the Semifinals on instead of being present myself in Telenor Arena. Simply because i did not have a free ticket :-D Well, Gf was watching the Masterchef program on tv, so i had to watch the first 3 songs streamed from the NRK , the rest i could watch on the TV. I did kind a bet on not making it through to the final, but was proven wrong. however did not make it through the semifinals! This is a big blow for for this is the first time ever that they have not participated in the finals. Well….. their song was really not that good, i thought it was a bit boring and the female singer had a pushed vibrator voice, that was a little bit wanne’be to country western singing. I am surprised that the danish entry got chosen for it sounds remarkable much as the Police/Sting number “missing you”

Well the semifinals 2 did as the 1 first one did, also come with a lot of cheese and covers. Like Holland/Netherlands that has a Hollandic Polka with two “figurines” standing there and moving in the background. And the wind-machine was also used all the way through the rest of the acts as well. Well just a nice and cheesy semi final as expected.

Right now I’m trying to figure out what songs are gonna get the top 3 at the Finals and the list looks like this for now.

Picture of the Danish entry from Eurovision.tv

1. Belgium – With the John Mayer guy Tom Dice, They have a very international sing’n'song hit right there, that i believe we will hear a lot more of, even though if it does not win.

2. Germany – Germany is one of the countries that are automatically in the finals (due to the cash they per to the Eurovision events) And the Lilly Allan wanna’be has a catchy tune that appeals to a lot of people. Just don’t watch the video for you might find it annoying very very fast.

3. Turkey – Manga (i think it’s Manga) is the name of the group that is the entry from Turkey. They are well known in their land and the entry is also a quite alright rock-song with live instruments. We can’t get another “Lordi” act thats surprises with a rock song, but then again, they are not trying to, so they might have a real possibility, so that’s is why they might get to the top 3.

This is my bet for Eurovision 2010, so lets just see this Saturday how right or wrong i am. I might but some money on this bet as well.

Stay a while and listen

Keeping up with a blog might be difficult for people. They might forget to go in and check their favorite blogs and to see if they have updated. So they sign up for different “reminders” like or pages that tell you that the pages you follow has an update. Myself uses these as well, not just to keep me updated on the pages i follow, but also to note people following me, that this rant space actually has an update. I mostly just sign up for a pages feed, so i get the post or update straight to Outlook. Another one i’m starting to use is bloglovin.com where you again can sign up, add the blogs that supports it, and have an inbox with your favorite places’ updates.

Being on different places also gets you more readers and subscribers, but i can be hard to track and follow who and how many are actually following your blog. Like on Bloglovin, you can see now that i have 6 people through this following the blog. I can’t see who, and where they are from. I can only see what others pages my followers has as well. I’m signed of for a lot of places that that automatically let people know that the blog has updated, Places like the obvious such as Facebook (i’m even my own application in there), Networked blogs (that’s also an Facebook ), Bloglovin as mentioned before, .no (an Norwegian site that automatic updates based on my RSS FEED)and even Googles Blogger program.

I even have little “Widgets” on my sidebar to the right, to help people find the different places where they can add me. Of cause there is also people who just punch in the address when they feel like it, and this is quite fine as well. Other people might discover the blog by watching a comment i made on someone else’s blog. Or they might come via a link that other pages or bloggers has on their pages (like a have some links on the right side of my site)

Well.. They all generate trafic, visitors and such, but i can be hard to get a complete overview of who is watching. (Except for Bill Hope who is watching via the app all the way from Atlanta, Georgia! Hi Bill)

Apps up the wazoo

Within the last many days i have reinstalled my computers with Windows 7, and you quickly realize how many just for standard use that you need to reinstall. Here is the list of stuff i need on my systems for daily use.

Skype: Well, i pretty much need skype around for my communication needs.

MSN: beside Skype this is my main choice of keeping in touch with my friends.

Steam: No is the same without Steam. The main source of i have at the moment are from Steam. So having it installed i always have access to pretty much my entire game library.

VLC player: Wacthing movies on the computer is what VLC player is for. There is pretty much no format that it can’t run. And it even supports subtitles with the possibility to make up for text/sound out of sync.

WinRar: Winrar is made for packing and unpacking files to formats like ZIP. Great little thing and 100% needed.

Daemon Tools: Sometimes you need a Virtual DVD/CD drive for mounting a IMG file. Like if you purchased a cd online and you need to burn it to a disc. Well sometimes you don’t need to waist CD, and you can just mount it on the virtual drive.

Spotify: All and no fun makes Jack a dull boy, can’t breath without music now can we?

: Firefox is probably the best alternative to Explorer. And watching and making photography, different browsers react differently two pictures. So it’s always good to have different browsers installed to watch them in. Plus some websites work better in one browser and others in others.

Firefox Addons: I’m using some essential addon’s for Firefox to help me in my daily work as well

English dictionary: Adding a English dictionary helps me with the spelling writing on my blog. It’s a automatic spelling checker, that works straight in the browser.

Fireshot: Fireshot is a cool little program for taking screen shots. You just press the button and you can edit it straight away, by adding text, highlights, highlighting squares and cropping.

Firebug: Firebug is a great addon when fixing on the design on he website. you can activate it and highlight areas of the page to see the HTML and the CSS styles. And you can edit the code straight from the browser to see the results right away. Of cause this is not a edit that get’s saved, but it will give you and ideér on how it will look like before you go and fuck up the real code.

: on my main computer at least i need to install iTunes. Beside of being my main program for organizing my music, i need it for keeping my backed up and updated.

So that was a little list of the essentials i need for running optimal on my systems. Beside the small apps like this of cause comes a lot of the bigger work flow applications like, , Lightroom and the Office package. I have prolly forgot something, plus i have been using a lot programs during the time, but don’t remember to install them before i actually need them.

Peek-a-Boo I see You!

On my blog i have Analytics installed so i have a chance to follow, whom are actually following the blog. Who are visiting, where they come from, country, websites and so on. It’s a chance to see the evolve with readers. Sometimes it can be fun looking on the words and searches that people have been using to come by my ! Attached are some pictures from Analytics where you can see where visitors come from. What sites sends them, and the one i think is the most to funny to look at, the one that shows what people has been searching for in Google to come by my site. Before changing from DK to a COM site, the top referral would be words like “ Whore”  “Thai Whores” “Wonderfull boys”… well…. you see where i’m going at….
