Just as last year, I at my brothers work, where we once again have set up for the big NFL final. Ravens vs 49′ers.

I believe I have mentioned on an earlier post, that I have a small bet with my brother, where we bet a bottle of booze with accessories on who wins. The looser picks his choice first for next years fight. Sadly I lost last year (and I STILL owe little brother numsi a bottle…) but this means that I can for this match, choose Ravens! Goooooo ravens.

I recently bought a new monitor for my computer. I have a setup with two 24″ screens on a extended desktop. Setting up the new screen and replacing an old 17″ Dell monitor. I very quickly found out, just how bad my screens where in the color calibration. Left monitor had a huge tint of blue, and the older screen next to it, I could now see, just how big a green tint that one had.

Working with pictures and being super colorblind, I really am not making it easy for myself. So I decided it might be time to get myself a monitor calibrator. I went out and I got the X-rite i1 Display Pro for around 1700 DKK

As backgrounds on my screens at the moment I’m using a picture in Black/White of The Charlotte that I have taken. Blue tint on one, Green tint on the other. I installed the software and plugged in the calibrator. Hung it on my screen and started the process. Takes about tw0 minutes pr. screen. And Wolla! Now have to identical (well almost, small variations but still) backgrounds in Black and white and not in any wrong color tint.

This calibrator has easy to use software, and I can recommend it for use with non professional screens like standard color monitors on your home computer. The software guides you to the setup and procedure all the way through, so there is no worries. X-rite i1 Display pro also can be used to calibrate projectors and screen based on the ambient light in the room. So far don’t really have that much bad to say about the little thing.

It’s been a dream for me and the future of my company PanCakeBeaver.com to get a real studio. I have a lot of the equipment to stuff in there, but simply just need the space. At the moment I need to remove half my apartment if I want to set up for a studio session. So I’m determent to get a place where I can just go, and most of my stuff will just be there.

Back where I was living in Oslo, I was just a signature away, for getting my own studio in the smack middle of the city. But when my job did not renew my temp contract, I simply was not able to afford the place… So the dream kind a washed down the drain at that point.

To start with, I’m searching for a studio space, where maybe 3-5 other people also have access and use it for office as well, so we therefor can share all the expenses. To start with it might be a bit to expensive to upkeep a place of my own with the income I get. But i’m pretty sure and certain that I will be earning a lot more when I have a place to do stuff.

Some of my contacts told me about some of these shared office spaces, where you do your business from, that actually also have a studio space attached. This would maybe be real good. And being able to run my business with a lot of other creative people around me, maybe not be that bad an idea. I know the The Charlotte would love a place where she can just go, when she needs pictures of her costumes and creations.

Some months ago, my stove went out of business. So I had to go get a new one. My kitchen is not all that big, so I had to make really sure that the with of oven that I would get, was 100% accurate. The time came for my oven to be delivered and ohh what happy day. I could now cook again.
To my big misbelieve I had to come to terms with, that my new oven was to damn wide! What had happened? The ruler that I used to measure the old stove with, was faulty! Apparently it started the cm. count some cm’s in, and not right at the start as it should have…. DOH!! So instead of returning it, I chopped of pieces of my kitchen to make the damn thing fit….. Breaking the oven door…. (Another story)

Well at my work place this week I was put in charge of getting a new stove for the kitchen. Learning from my mistakes, I found a good measuring tape that should be accurate so I was sure what I was doing. The new oven arrived, and we unpacked it…… TEN CM to FREAKING WIDE. How the hell did that happened? I still have no clue why I ordered a 60cm wide stove, when the measurement cleared stated 50cm….. Ggrrrrrrrrrrr

Well we packed it up nicely and had it picked up by the company who sold it, and at the same time the brought a new one, which fitted perfectly. A little 500 Kr pickup fee mistake…… Might need to buy cake for the people at work for this error!

Woop woop, happy day. Just found out that “Die Antwoord” came out with a new video a couple of months ago, and it totally slipped through my nose. As mentioned earlier I really love their videos. They are very well made, and i actually also like their music. Not that I normally listen to South African Rap. So though I wanted to share with you the newest video! Here ya go.

Once upon a time, back some where in the 1990′s. I by a freak accident smashed my head into a wooden pole… DIIING…. I broke my nose, and not just broke it, but the bone in the middle flip. Of cause i got it fixed in the hospital. And all was well. Now, about a year ago i started to notice that i had trouble breathing through one of my nostrils. I thought it might have been a cold, and it was just blocked. But as time went by, i started to get worried for my nose did not clear up yet. I can breath but only fully through one of my nostrils. This also results in a little whistle concert while i sleep.

I finally around two months ago, got an appointment with the nose doctor. I could see that my nose might have gone a bit askew again. Here therefor booked me in for a time at the hospital. I went there this Wednesday, and stayed there being looked up the nose from different doctors and surgeons. They all agreed that the nose was skewed to the side… Well thank your for confirming what i already know…. Apparently they could not take a decision on what to do with the nose. Apparently they are not allowed to do anything with the nose, only a Chief Surgeon would be able to do that. An “ordinary” Doctor was not allowed when my nose has been fixed before… back in the 1990′s……

So it all resulted in another booking with the chief surgeon, who will decide what to do, when he got them time in the schedule. So now I’m back in 1½ month waiting period before I cane told,what they can do to fix it.

Is this really that necessary to get fixes? YES it is. I have trouble falling a sleep and i only breath through the nose. I can her my voice being more “nasal” than normal. And in my professional life, i depend on my breathing and voice, when standing on stage. So i can’t wait for them to tell me some good news about fixing it. Hopefully they don’t chop off my pretty pretty (big) nose..

Found this in the shop the other day, and remember my friend “The Ninja” really loves these. Well, i guess it does not hurt to try.

Well, I did like it, but it tasted like something i already know, but just can’t wrap my head around what it taste like. Prolly should stick to the Diet Coke or normal. They really have some funny tastes out there. Vanilla Coke, Cherry Coke, Diet Coke with lime and so on. One of my favorite cokes here in DK is the Diet Coke on 2 liter bottle that you buy from lidl. Not that i actually drink that much of the stuff anyway.

Walking around my room, minding my own business, and suddenly SMACK! I whack my foot into the wheel of a trolley i have laying on the floor. Jumping up and down like a mad man, using my entire vocabulary of foul word in 5 different languages, and collapsing on my back! I hit the middle toe on my right food straight into the wheel.

After the pain started to leave me, and i got up and sitting again i took a look at the toe, but nothing really showed. No biggie, we all tried this i guess.

The morning after waking up and jumping out of the bed to take a shower i quickly had a flash bang of pain in my toe. Ohhhh nooo… I remember this pain. Back in 2007/2008 i broke my bog toe doing ninja. I I remember the pain, but also that there is really nothing to do with a busted up toe. So i soldier up, grab a shower. Fight my socks on, a pair of shoes (took a couple of tries) and stumbled to my car to go to work.

Dragging my leg behind me like a beat up pirate, pretty sure that my middle toe is broken, i endure the pain (and think it might have been stupid not to go to the ER getting a pair of crutches.) But survived the day. Yiipieee. At home i really longed for getting my shoes and socks of. And there it was looking at me. A big blue toe… It did not look like this in the morning? Weird for it to get that color so many hours after!

Well now it’s Saturday, and I can almost walk like a normal zombie again, so I guess that it’s luckily not broken after all.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese, click…

i found these cheeses at the shop. Some of them I very well remember from my time in Norway. The good the bad and the really really gross.
The first one up, is the “Jarlsberg” this is actually a really good cheese, so when I found this I just had to buy a block. This is almost gone now, yum yum yum.
Second up is “Brunost” Myseost, Norwegian cheese and so on. This is either a cheese you really really hate or love. And I don’t care for it myself. It’s pretty much made from the leftovers of normal cheese.
As you might have guessed now (or not) these cheeses are from Norway, and I got acquainted with them my time there. They are made by the company called Tine, and are the biggest producer of dairy products there. Here in Denmark or Sweden we have Arla.
The 3′rd cheese…… Well… Did not have Ny picture for this, but it’s all kind of blue cheese…. Hate that shit!

I bought my first SLR camera from my photo teacher back in 2001. It was a Good old Olympus OM10 and I loved it like crazy. I still do even. It’s always been there, hanging about 40 cm. from my head sitting at my computer. I got a “upgrade” when I got the Canon 200V a fully automatic monster back in 2002…. Still analogue. In 2006 I got my very first digital SLR. The Canon D20, and upgraded again in 2009 with Canon 5D mark II.

Well, in the moment my good old friend who I look at everyday, is assisting my character in the play “Calendar Girls”. Sitting there fumbling a bit around with the camera checking the inner workings, I found this sticker where the film is supposed to be. The sticker says “Foto Østerport, Silkeborg tlf (06) 82 11 12.
This made me think briefly about the life my camera had before it got to know me. Who was the first owner, who loved it first, and why did it get sold in the first place “or stolen?” And when? I meen the phone number type is not even being used in Denmark anymore, and I don’t know if the photoshop where is got sold even is there any more. Well….. Just got me thinking a bit.

Iv’e been using a new app the last couple of weeks. It’s called AppZapp. This gives you a super overview of the many different apps out there. It can show you a great graph of price changes on apps. Show you the most popular apps from all around the world, and not just you own region. Or it can just show you a list of apps that are free at the moment. The last option is great if you want to try/get new stuff to play with, utilities or more for free. The standard version is free, and there is also a pro version, but don’t actually now what this version does compared to the free one. Attached are some pictures of the AppZapp app.

Hey and welcome back, hope you all had an enjoyable summer. I know i did have great two weeks off.

During my vacation i got to do a shoot for the company called Orbiloc. They deal in reflexes and lights for animals in particular. Small strong lights to hang on your pets collar, so people in traffic are able to see them in the dark. I have for this shoot hired my colleague Kæ9 to come along, for it’s always good to have a TLS (talking light stand) on a shoot.

Orbiloc have got funding to make a, whats called an OBS commercial. They hired a company called Fridthjof Film to make the commercial itself. My job was a bit different. I had to take stills of the scenes, and situations to be used on the website for Orbiloc.

We headed out at 17.30 and drove in my car to Roskilde. After finding the place, and saying hello to the film crew, we unpacked a lot of the gear that we brought. Two lights on stands, triggers, camera and lenses. We talked about what pictures we know we wanted to bring in, and what our options where to make them here. We had just one small problem, about the pictures that we wanted to do. The people and animals, was constantly busy with the film shoot. Not that we could not use them, but they could not move out of their places. So we had to shoot the pictures in the setting and lights that the film crew had set up. This if cause gives some problems, as well as benefits. The benefits are of cause, that everything is set up, and people are where they are supposed to be. But the disadvantage are, that the light the film makers uses are far to low for me to get a decent ISO. This of cause brings in more grain in the shot.

We decided to make some pictures of our own, and hijack the people and animals, even if there was just a 5 minutes break. (keep in mind, this is not actors. They where the real Police, Rescuers and so on, who has volunteered to participate in this OBS commercial) So we set ups two lamps and a police car up the road, where we could make some pictures of our own. These turned out great, and we had full control. I will show some pictures the minute i can. Well all along it was a great night. We finished 02.00 – 02.30 in the morning and drove back home.

It was nice to have a ordered job once again.

Not so long ago, the nice fellows at; The Interbeing released together with Metal Hammer UK, Mighty Music and Target, their new music video for the Song: Shadow Drift. I’ve seen them live a few times during the last many years, and they still rock the place out of life concerts. It is nice to see a video that rocks just as equal. Enjoy.

Copenhell is over for this year, and what a blast it was. Saw great bands like Saxon, Meshuggah, korpiklaani, Immortal, lamb of God and last Marilyn Manson. After arriving at the festival and regenerating with a cold beer, I sat in the dried grass hill and stayed there for about 4 hours. (of cause it resulted in a sunburn on my arms and one side of the face only) first band was up, Saxon played, beer was cold, the heavy head from the morning was gone, and friends had arrived. All good. The day progressed and we enjoyed the very good weather. It was not until later the late evening that the weather turned to he worse. Lucky for me I got my sweater for warmth and my raincoat with me this time, so I put them on at the appropriate times.
This evening was also the night where the main attraction was going to play, so we got up to the main stage, so we could get good spot before before show start. So we was there about 30 minutes before Marilyn Manson got on.
Concert started and it was great. We rocked and rocked, even while the weather was pissing on us from up above. At one point Manson threw his water bottle in a high arc over his should an towards the audience. I could see the bottle coming straight for me and my friends, and my friend also caught it….. with his face.. SMACK..
All in all, this festival has been very good. Better than last year, and everybody has been looking out for each-other. So if any family festival Copenhell should be it.

Copenhell day one was Awesome! I arrived at the hell gates around 14.00 – 14.30 and came straight in. There was a welcoming  party made out of a handfull of zombies. They where to busy to eat my brain for some woman was trying to film them. Oh well, we are not here for the zombies anyway. Getting in there immediately saw that they have made some changes around compared to last year. The biggest change was prolly the stage where the different danish artists will be performing. Last year they where performing on a very small stage wedged in between two iron containers. And no room for people. Bad and sad. This year however, they changed the place for stage, and now they put it where the second big stage was last year. Stage two is now moved over to the other site of the main stage across the festival square. Much much much better. So now the danish band actually have a place worth there time to play on.

Great. I saw three bands this loving friday, with the sun up high and the beer cold. First band up was “Barricade” Not my kind of music, but the guys played there heart out. Tough job to be the band that opens up the entire festival.  At 18.00 my Brothers band “The Interbeing” went on stage, and there was a shit load of people there. They did a very good job and the crowd was pleased. Seen them enough times to see that it was not a halv bad show, and they poured the heart and soul into it. Of cause it’s heart to get prober sound when the wind blows and take the sound all around with it.

One of the bands i looked forward for and who played on the Main stage was the awesome “Killswitch Engage”. They did a very good job as well, and i was happy. Saturday brings a lot of other bands as well, here amongst Marilyn Manson as ending act. Friday we ended up with Slayer. I’ve ssen them before and i went homewards around midway. Only a few “Pendler” busses are in place to bring everybody home from the festival, so i wanted to be there a bit before everybody else.

Once again a very good day, with friends and beer (who are my friends except for the day after) with everything a good festival contains. Music, beer and overpissed toilets. Looking forward to last day.
